About this position
Contributing to our security. Can you see yourself doing that? Become a Business Developer for Land & Amphibious Operations at TNO in The Hague.
No two working days are the same, but one thing is certain: as a Business Developer in the field of Land and Amphibious Operations, you are in constant contact with the Royal Netherlands Army (including the Netherlands Commando Corps and Air mobile Brigade), the Netherlands Marine Corps and other Defence units, industry partners, fellow research organizations, government bodies, and, of course, your colleagues within TNO.
You connect our clients’ operational needs with the innovative strength of the Netherlands, helping to develop new and meaningful capabilities for both our armed forces and our industry.
What will be your role?
Together with a team at TNO, you will work on innovative solutions for the land and amphibious operations of the Netherlands and its allies. There will be a great deal happening in this domain in the coming years. That is why you will actively engage with the Ministry of Defence and industry partners. You take initiative and guide ideas towards concrete projects, helping to bring military capabilities into operation as quickly as possible.
You build and maintain long-term relationships with our clients. You actively connect long-term knowledge development with shorter-term technology projects, ensuring that innovation translates into practical impact.
You stay up to date with developments in the field by attending national and international conferences and trade fairs, engaging with key stakeholders, and visiting a wide range of clients and partners. In doing so, you contribute to the future readiness and operational effectiveness of the armed forces and help strengthen the security of the Netherlands in a rapidly changing world.
You will join a team of experienced business developers within the Electromagnetics & Military Operations (E&MO) market team of TNO’s Defence, Safety & Security (DSS) unit. Our mission is to enhance the effectiveness of defence and security organisations through the development of smart technological solutions in the electromagnetic spectrum and through operational analysis of current and future military operations. We also aim to contribute to a strong international position for Dutch industry.
Our market team is diverse in both background and experience. We rely on one another’s strengths and confidently hand over responsibilities when needed. There is ample opportunity to learn, job satisfaction is highly valued, and colleagues are always willing to support each other. Above all, a shared enthusiasm for our profession and for defence and security is one of the key things that unites us.
