
TNO and Quobly sign strategic MoU to scale European quantum computing
Today, TNO and French deep-tech scale-up Quobly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a technical cooperation on silicon spin-qubit device development. The official signing ceremony took place in Eindhoven in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron and Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten. This partnership aims to bridge the gap between scientific concept and commercial reality by connecting two of Europe's leading quantum and semiconductor ecosystems.

Engineering at scale
The collaboration directly addresses a critical bottleneck in the global quantum race: engineering at scale. Quobly anchors its hardware architecture in a manufacturable 300 mm FD-SOI platform, which was developed with key European semiconductor players including CEA-Leti, STMicroelectronics, and Soitec. By combining this advanced French CMOS manufacturing base with TNO's proven device characterization and systems engineering infrastructure, the partnership actively reinforces Europe's technological sovereignty and industrial competitiveness.

Accelerating the lab-to-market transition
Under the terms of the MoU, TNO will provide Quobly with quantum device measurement data, device simulations data, and stack integration consulting. This exploratory relationship enables Quobly to scale faster by utilizing shared European test infrastructures, such as TNO's high-throughput cryogenic characterization and metrology, validating their technology at an industrial production scale. Together, the organizations are taking concrete steps to orchestrate a secure, sovereign supply chain for quantum technologies within Europe.
