Spectrophotometer is used to measure absorption or transmission of light at a specific wavelength in a solution which allows the concentration of a chemical component to be determined using a prepared calibration line tuned to the expected concentration to be examined.

The Vaisala WindCube and ZX300M are wind Lidar systems. These devices can measure a vertical wind profile with 12 programmable heights for the WindCube and 10 programmable heights for the ZX300M. Output of the devices includes horizontal wind speed, wind shear, turbulence intensity and wind direction.

The Vaisala WindCube 200s is a scanning wind Lidar with a range of 6000 m for combined horizontal and vertical scanning and a maximum scanning height of 12000 m in vertical mode. A scanning pattern can be programmed, tailored specifically for the application with a resolution of 25 m, 50 m, 75 m or 100 m and accumulation time 0.

The Vaisala WindCube Nacelle (Long range version) is a wind Lidar that can be mounted on the roof of a wind turbine nacelle. With 20 programmable range gates from 50 m to 700 m horizontally, the Lidar measures incoming wind before it reaches the wind turbine rotor. Output of the device includes horizontal wind speed, wind shear, turbulence intensity and turbine yaw misalignment (relative wind direction).

X-ray diffraction (XRD) is a technique in which the diffraction of X-rays by a sample of interest is analyzed. When used as a basic technique (X-ray powder diffraction), it can determine the crystalline components of a sample. Taking it a step further, it can also provide information on the mass percentages of the crystalline components and the amount of amorphous material.
