What will be your role?
As a Strategy Manager in TNO's Corporate Strategy Office, you are part of the team responsible for shaping and driving TNO's strategic agenda. Within that role, you will dedicate most of your time to supporting the unit Energy & Materials Transition, one of TNO's largest and most impactful units.
Together with the Senior Strategy Manager EMT, you act as a strategic linking pin between EMT and the Corporate Strategy Office, ensuring alignment between the unit's ambitions and TNO's overall strategic direction. While the Senior Strategy Manager serves as the primary strategic partner to the EMT Board of Directors , you will independently lead strategic analyses, initiatives and improvement programs, working closely with the unit's Management and other stakeholders.
You provide fact-based insights and strategic advice that enable sound decision-making. You facilitate strategy discussions, management workshops and portfolio reviews, helping EMT translate strategic ambitions into concrete choices, priorities and actions. You support the development of annual plans, monitor strategic progress and contribute to business reviews and decision-making materials for TNO's Executive Committee and Board of Management.
At the same time, you will be an integral part of TNO's Corporate Strategy Office: a team of ambitious and collaborative professionals dedicated to shaping TNO's long-term strategy and supporting the organization on its most important strategic challenges. While EMT will be your primary focus area, you will also contribute to TNO-wide strategic projects and cross-unit initiatives, offering a unique opportunity to combine deep involvement in a major business unit with exposure to organization-wide strategic topics.
This role offers a combination of strategic impact, societal relevance and exposure to senior leadership, providing an exceptional platform for further growth as a strategy professional.
The Corporate Strategy Office is part of Strategy, Marketing & Communications (SMC), which also includes the Science & Market Office, Partnerships Office, Tech Transfer Office, Public Affairs, and Internal & External Communications.
You report to the Director of Strategy and work closely with the Senior Strategy Manager EMT, the EMT Management and other senior stakeholders across TNO.
What we expect from you
- Master’s degree.
- 7-12 years of relevant work experience, preferably in consulting or corporate strategy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage senior stakeholders and build networks.
- Pro-active and flexible attitude.
- Sound Powerpoint and Excel skills.
- Strong organizational sensitivity and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environment.
- Professional proficiency in English and Dutch.
- Team spirit and a good sense of humor.

The selection process
Please apply before August 9th, 2026. The selection process comprises two interview rounds. In a final meeting we will discuss the terms of employment and your tailored benefits package. We aim to finalize the entire process within four weeks.
