Smart Industry impact: looking back and forward

TNO colleagues developed a whitepaper on the impact of the digitalization of the manufacturing sector in the Netherlands with a special focus on SMEs. They found that;

The manufacturing sector active on digitalization is the fastest growing sub-sector within the manufacturing sector and the whole economy of the Netherlands since 2016. Besides that the industrial digitalization in the Netherlands is above the EU average. But countries such as Sweden and Ireland are leading in the EU when it comes to digitalization of manufacturing. To further accelerate the digitalization of the manufacturing sector in the Netherlands it will be important to: enable more SMEs to digitalize their processes and pay special attention on cultural acceptance within these companies.
