About this position

Working at TNO means contributing to research and innovative applications that matter. As a Network Engineer your challenge is to manage complex networks on which over 4000 TNO employees at 20 locations in the Netherlands perform their daily work and research. You have an eye for detail, security and can perform coordinating activities.

What will be your role?

As Network Engineer you are responsible for having and keeping the network infrastructure available. You ensure adequate performance and system security You perform performance measurements and trend analyses and make system adjustments. You manage and administer changes. And you have an advisory role regarding the urgency, impact and priority of changes to be implemented.
You follow the latest techniques and trends in the field and you develop ideas to further qualitatively develop the service level of the department. And you maintain operational contacts with suppliers of software and hardware.

The position is very diverse and you get a lot of freedom and space for your own ideas.

What we expect from you

To perform this role well, it is important that you recognize yourself in the following profile:

  • Demonstrable multi-year experience as a LAN / WAN network administrator in a relevant work environment;
  • Demonstrable multi-year experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, Infoblox;
  • Flexible customer and service oriented attitude;
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.

What you'll get in return

Besides a gross (full-time/40hour) monthly salary of € 3,750,- and € 5,000,- you get a 13th month of 8.33% and a flex budget of 5.58%. So monthly your salary can average between € 4,350,- and € 5,750,-. Next to this you will also receive 33 vacation days and 8% holiday payment. The selection process

The selection process comprises two interview rounds. We aim to finalize the entire process within four weeks.

A certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) is required before starting a new job at TNO.

As you will be working for clients in the domain of defence and security, a Certificate of No Objection issued by AIVD (The Dutch General Information and Security Service) is mandatory. This means you will have to undergo a security screening. Read more about security screening.
